A cosmopolitan hub, that attracts budget and luxury travellers alike to its lively neighborhoods and relaxed beaches; the tropical paradise of Koh Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, continues to stand out with its unique charm. Accommodation wise, there’s plenty of options to choose from. The island has a selection of resorts which provide easy access to the beaches, like the Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, which offers stunning views of the ocean from its rooms and villas.

Aside from relaxing at your Samui beach resort, Koh Samui also has a wide range of attractions like beautiful waterfalls, famous rocks and mummified monks, along with an interesting mix of eclectic pubs, restaurants, discos and nightclubs. Koh Samui is famous for having some of the best nightlife in Thailand, with most visitors opting to go on one of the many famous pub crawls that take place around the island. There are so many pubs to pick from, that the crawls can start during the early evening and go on well into the morning. While there are great venues around the island, you need to hit the streets of Chaweng and Lamai, the two main nightlife districts, to really get a feel for the city’s famed pub atmosphere.

Chaweng district is doubtless the more popular of the two. Even if you start your evening elsewhere, you will undoubtedly end the night in Chaweng. The main beach road which leads through the district, has numerous small streets veering off, each one home to a big selection of pubs and nightclubs. Ask any local and they’ll tell you the place to go for maximum fun is an area called Soi Green Mango. This shoe shaped road is jam packed with a number of colourful pubs, bars and nightclubs that suit a wide range of tastes.

Officially, all nightclubs and bars are meant to close up around 2am, however, more often than not, the parties rage on well into the early morning so there’s nothing to hold you back from having a blast on Koh Samui.
