The most known dish of the Balinese cuisine, this is a favourite throughout the world and was voted the second most delicious dish in the world by a CNN poll back in 2011. Stir fried rice mixed with spices like garlic, tamarind, chilli and sweet soy sauce, this rice dish comes with a variety of meat of your choice.

 

Satay

This is a favourite in Southeast Asia and is similar to the Turkish shish kebab and the South African sosatie. A satay is skewers of meat doused in aromatic spices, grilled or barbecued and served with accompaniments like spicy sauces. Street vendors also sell satays in Bali and you don’t have to walk into a restaurant to try out this amazing local food.

 

Gado Gado

A Gado gado can work as both the main and the side dish during a meal and is, therefore, highly popular. Basically, a vegetable salad covered in peanut sauce, this dish comes in various forms.
