Solo Travel in Singapore: Tips & Tricks for a Magical Singapore Solo Trip (2026) – What to Know Before You Go
If you love travelling on your own, Singapore is a great place for it. It’s clean, well organised, easy to get around, and there are plenty of things to keep you entertained. You can spend a morning in a garden, the afternoon admiring artefacts at a museum, or sipping coffee at a cafe.
Before planning your itinerary, however, here’s everything you need to know before embarking on your adventures around the Lion City.
Places to Stay
When choosing where to stay, go for a central area with easy MRT access so you can move around without wasting time. Also, make sure the hotel is close to major sights, museums, and dining areas. A rooftop pool or gym is a nice extra when you want to slow things down in the middle of the day. Breakfast on-site can be super useful too, when you want to have something to eat before heading out for sightseeing adventures. Hotels in Singapore CBD typically tick all these boxes, including the likes of Grand Park City Hall.
Best Time to Visit
Singapore’s weather remains pretty consistent throughout the year. While it doesn’t have an extreme dry season or wet season, rainfall is usually higher from November to January. February to April is considered the dry season. Walking around is often more comfortable during these months. May can be quite hot, though.
Food
Food is a big part of the Singapore experience, even on a solo trip. Hawker culture is such an important part of daily life in Singapore that UNESCO added it to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Hawker centres are great when you are alone because they are casual, affordable, and full of choice. You can try a range of dishes without breaking the bank.

Things to Do
Keep your plan simple. Gardens by the Bay is an easy pick, especially if you want something beautiful and easy to do on your own. Marina Bay, Chinatown, Kampong Glam, and museum visits also work well for solo travellers.
