Gourmet Abu Dhabi is an event organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority focusing on cuisines from the Middle East. First held in 2009, the fourth edition of Gourmet Abu Dhabi will take place between the 8th and 23rd of February 2012, and will feature celebrity chefs from all parts of the world. The Gala Opening on the 8th of February will kick start a fifteen day celebration of good food, drink and cooking. It is the perfect opportunity for visitors to taste the most tantalising delights that the Arab city has to offer. Tourists visiting the capital of the United Arab Emirates in February should try not to miss this chance.

Those visiting the food festival will be able to tantalise their taste buds, and experience one of the most magical dining experiences in the world. The food here is unlike any found anywhere in the Middle East. The main reason for this is the emirate’s large immigrant community, which has added a distinctive flair to the otherwise traditional local Arab cuisine found here. However, Gourmet Abu Dhabi is not just about food. Most of the participating chefs will distil their culinary expertise and wisdom into educational master classes, where people can learn how to cook epicurean masterpieces.

The event is for all lovers of food in general and Middle Eastern food in particular. As for those who have never tasted Middle Eastern cuisine, it is probably the best place to start. Hal Yamashita, Rodrigo De La Calle and Sean Griffin are among the international master chefs who will conduct events this year. The events will take place at various venues around the city, and one can get a full schedule from the festival website.
