Samlor Korkor

While it may not be as popular as Amok in overseas Cambodian restaurants, Samlor Korkor is truly the national dish of the country. Served in nearly every local eatery, this wholesome meal, made up of green kroeung, roasted ground rice, a host of veggies, meat items, and even fruits, is a classic example of the odd mix of flavours in Cambodian cuisine.

Nom Banh Chok

Sometimes referred to as Khmer Noodles, Nom Banh Chok is a delicious breakfast dish that those who are based at Somerset Norodom Phnom Penh or any one of the other apartments in Phnom Penh can buy from a street vendor right outside their property. Women often carry baskets of Nom Banh Chok noodles, which are usually infused with a plethora of herbs and spices. Featuring banana flowers, cucumbers, long beans, and lemongrass gravy, this dish is served with a sweet sauce in Siem Reap.

Kari Sach Moan

Also known as Chicken red curry, Kari Sach Moan is less spicy than most red curries in the local canon and is quite mild in spite of the generous use of red chillies. White radish, coconut milk and sweet potatoes are also part of this dish, which is a staple at weddings and other celebrations.
