Nasi Goreng

This dish is loved by so many, that it is very common seeing people have it for breakfast, lunch and even for dinner. Nasi goreng literally means fried rice in Indonesian; it is basically rice, stir-fried with pieces of meat and vegetables. What makes this dish so special is that it is seasoned with a variety of distinct spices and a sweet soy sauce which creates its world-renowned taste.

Satay

Satay or Sate is a staple Balinese started dish that is generally made with minced chicken which is mixed with spices. The mixture is then skewed on sticks that are grilled to perfection over hot charcoal. The cooking process seals in all the succulent juices inside and it will be an explosion of flavours in your mouth once you bite into it. Satay is also made with pork, beef, and goat.

Mie Goreng

This is a dish that is very similar to Nasi Goreng but instead of Rice, Mie Goreng is made from noodles that is stir-fried with vegetables and your own choice of meat which includes chicken, pork, shrimp or duck. At some of the eateries and Seminyak hotels, the likes of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach you get Mie Goreng served with prawn crackers, a fried egg on top or with satay and the dish is commonly savoured with some peanut sauce and pickled vegetables.

Pisang Goreng

Crunchy on the outside, sweet and caramelly on the inside, this is a fried dessert that one would go crazy over! Pisang Goreng is a snack made from bananas that are sliced, battered and fried until golden; the fried bananas are then served with palm sugar or honey, a little bit of vanilla ice cream or flaked Coconut.
