Arepas

Whilst dining in Thailand and trying out South American dishes, arepas should definitely be a top contender on that list! This dish is a bread that is baked or fried using cornmeal flour; it’s perfection in a meal, as the outer part is soft and crispy while the inside melts in your mouth. They are paired with a range of toppings, either sweet or savoury.

Pollo A La Brasa

Pollo A La Brasa, or blackened chicken, is an incredibly flavourful and comforting dish. This contemporary Peruvian creation features a mouthwatering rotisserie chicken, served with yellow chilli potatoes and a rustic tomato sauce. While a little newer than traditional Peruvian cuisine, Bangkok’s Guilty Thailand restaurant does a wonderful rendition of the dish.

Feijoada

This is quite the famous Brazilian dish and has a deep history etched into it, dating back to the days of slavery. The dish is made with black beans, tomatoes, carrots and cabbage, and for meat, pork is added, which is the star of the dish. It’s quite a filling dish that’s available at some Brazilian restaurants in the country, as well as frozen through the Sabor Brasil food delivery service.
