Traditional Sri Lankan Cuisine

Sri Lanka is a scenic holiday destination having long been luring in travellers from across the world. If you plan on staying at one of the contemporary hotels in the country, AVANI Hotels & Resorts offer some of the finest upscale hotels. One of the most exotic cuisines in South Asia, Sri Lankan cuisine has drawn influence from various culinary traditions of different countries. However in many ways this cuisine is distinctive. The main meal of the locals consists of rice accompanied by several curries which tend to be quite spicy and flavoursome in general. Sri Lankan Cuisine is often compared to that of Kerala and also includes hoppers, string hoppers, pittu, pamprais and various traditional sweets such as kavum.

Thanuja Silva is a travel writer who writes under the pen name Auburn Silver. She has a passion for fashion and a deep interest in admiring new and exotic attractions around the world.
