Qatar being fertile grounds to different kinds of dates as well, these juicy fruits along with other goodies such as sour apples and almonds are considered as delicacies. A Qatari meal would not be complete without Hummus, a dip made from chickpeas and tahini or Waraq enab, rice stuffed vine leaves. Some of the other popular Qatari dishes include Taboulleh, a wheat and parsley dish,  stuffed courgettes, the popular biriyani, a richly flavoured rice mixed with chicken and lamp and Ghuzi, a whole roast lamb on a bed of rice and nuts.
