English Pubs

Since Hong Kong was once part of the British colony, it is no wonder that one of the oldest English pubs are still up and running here. Jimmy’s Kitchen is a pub that opened in 1928, where they serve some of the famous English delights such as shepherd’s pie.

Tea houses and banquet halls

There are many restaurants in Central Hong Kong serving up dishes that are prepared to old Cantonese recipes. Some delicacies like shrimp dumplings and shark fin soup can be found in tea houses and banquets here.

Soy sauce Westerns and cafe culture

These restaurants offer a fusion of Chinese style with western style cuisine to bring forth an authentic Hong Kong cuisine. If you are staying in places like The Murray Hong Kong, you will be able to easily walk out and find these authentic shops close by to treat your taste buds.

Typhoon shelters

Back in the day, the Tanaka tribe lived on the shores of Hong Kong. When they found economic opportunities on land, they converted their boats to eateries that served delicious seafood. Shun Kee Typhoon Shelter is the modern version of this concept.
