Chengdu is one of three popular cities you’ll find in western China and is the capital of Sichuan Province. If you’re a foodie, then Chengdu is the place to visit for flavourful and spicy cuisine. Sichuan Food

Chengdu is one of UNESCO’s creative cities for gastronomy and expertise in Sichuan (also known as Szechuan) food. There’s more to Sichuan food than it just being extra spicy, it’s told to be a correct balance between spicy, sour, salty and sweet. You’ll expect to see Sichuan food in all the best restaurants in Chengdu.

Chengdu Hot Pot

It’s highly unlikely that you will not find a restaurant that doesn’t serve hot pot. The traditional manner of eating hot pot is with a boiling hot broth placed in the middle of the table, but it’s eaten in quite a few other ways too where you get to pick and choose your vegetables and spices.
