Night Market in Trang – Uncover a Foodie’s Paradise in Trang’s Colourful Night Market

Regarded as one of the must-visit retail highlights for visitors touring Trang, the Trang Night Market is a truly one of a kind thoroughfare located along the shores of the Andaman. Frequented by locals and tourists alike this bustling marketplace is a food lover’s dream come true in Trang as a wide range of southern Thai delicacies and mouth-watering street food varieties litter the make-shift eateries of this colourful market.

Open from 5pm the culinary labyrinth that is the Trang Night Market is conveniently located within a stone’s throw of the town’s clock tower. Easily accessible and always affordable the piping hot delicacies at this thriving market place pave the way for an unforgettable alfresco dining experience.

First time visitors are encouraged to head down to the Trang Night Market on an empty stomach as the sheer number of steaming hot culinary treats on offer is staggering. Only a few stalls offer seating as most locals pick up food from the market on their way home after a busy day. Seasoned visitors have become accustomed to consuming the delectable delights from the plastic containers as locals do.

The number of food carts at the venue should mean repetitive menu options but the Trang Night Market is an exception as very few stalls offer the same dishes. Serving everything from fried chicken to Thai jell-o some of the hot pick items that are ranked among the must-try delicacies on a tour of the market are as follows.

Pla Tod Kamin or fried fish in cumin is a true hero dish of the market while grilled crabs and stir-fried clams are among the other delicious options on offer. Grilled sticky rice covered in banana leaves, seaweed dishes and Mee Kati coconut milk noodles are also worth savoring in addition to sweet potato in syrup, aromatic seafood salads and fried quail eggs (Kai Nok Krata Tod). Potato chips on a stick, rocket soda drinks and specialty items from Isaan are also sold at the Trang Night Market where Thai style burgers, curries, bananas boiled in syrup and fried mollusks with spicy sauce are also served to intrigued diners.

A second night market props up in the area right opposite the train station on Fridays and Saturdays and visitors can experience two fantastic night markets for the price of one on such days.

Travellers in search of a luxury Trang resort should look no further than Anantara Si Kao Thailand. Ideally situated in a scenic location this stylish rest is also ranked among the best Krabi resorts in the region.
